So How Powerful Are Words?
I am a writer and the owner of a company that focuses on words. Today I read this article about the Euro Zone, Germany and France that was written by an English journalist.
Do you now see why you need to read the news in several languages and from several countries? Do you see why it is so important to understand a culture and the people who live there?
The UK is not part of the Euro Zone and they are having some serious credit problems. Just like the United States, people in England have misused credit. The German people do not have this problem. The Germans are savers and they seriously hate people who can't manage their money. This is a cultural difference that starts with the individual and works its way up to the top of government.
The German Government had serious problems after the unification of Germany and the EU helped Germany as much as it could. As the largest country in Europe, it really was to the EUs benefit. The EU Helped Germany to absorb thousands of Russians and other Eastern Europeans. The EU Helped Germany to absorb the cost of an unprofitable eastern European country. Germany is finally starting to gain some semblance of health but it is still staggering financially...
Another party talked about in this article is France. A very socialist country just voted in a man who will try to make some differences. A man who will try and make France stronger. Will Germany hate this? Maybe, but not enough to kill the Euro.
So yes, France and Germany will always have serious differences but England just loves to poke at the wounds of these two countries and pretend that they are just a bystander. England, you are no bystander... you are a serious problem for the EU and you will always be a problem for the EU.
As I have been telling the Europeans, just wait. The EU will impose an EU tax on the individual and that will be a unifying event. Everyone will hate the tax and that will make them all feel like Europeans.
It will take Europe a long time before it is politically unified. There is no rush, at least not in the eyes of real Europeans. I am sorry about this political rant, I just love Europe and I want you to love it too.
