Kiah and her special spot
Creating product is more fun than hunting products down in the wilds of cyberspace. I don't have enough product created and I need products for October so I must venture forth and hunt.
One potential prey, Neuronfarm, finally emailed that they are definitely interested in distribution in Europe and want to move forward. I keep telling my prey that Frankfurt is only a few months away but I guess it really doesn't matter to them. It has been almost a year and as most business people know timing is everything. How do you get that idea acrossed to scientists who are not interested in time. My email buddy for the last year is no longer with the company and now I am dealing with the president. Hopefully we will be able to get an agreement and sample product organized before the middle of September.
I sometimes feel like a starving lion on the plains of Africa. The prey out there is scarce and I search long and hard for a meal. Luckily, I am not just a carnivore but a right brained omnivore willing to scrounge in my artbox for things to publish and I am certainly willing to force my creations on the world of education.
A few weeks ago, I cut out this weird character out of a brochure and decided to keep it just in case. Since today is a rainy day and my daughter is on vacation, it seemed like a good day to create a book using that "just in case" cut out.
I promised a friend's daughter I would write a book using an Australian girl. Today's book is for Freyja and she has the first draft which she is merrily carrying around and throwing on the ground. I always have mixed feelings about seeing my artwork tossed around but she likes the book and I know I will have the final draft for printing which I can put in a very safe place.
The book is short and simple using sight words. The book is for the preschoolers series (three to six year olds). I like the main character cutout and it looks like she will be the main character of this series. A strange creature made from a brochure colored orange and called Kiah. Kiah, which is an Australian name meaning from the beautiful place, is a child and has the problems most children have... like where is my box. So Kiah's first story is about her secret box and a secret spot. Sight words mind you... sight words.. a powerful tool.
