Sofia's 5 Reasons to be an Entrepeneur

As an Entrepreneur, I am always wondering why the heck I am an Entrepreneur. Why am I pursuing this business Plan. Why am I struggling? Why am I taking these risks?

This isn't something that just flits through my brain on an occasional basis, this is a question I ask myself everday after thanking God that I have one more day to struggle through.

So here it is, here is my list of 5 reasons to be an Entreprenur.

1. Freedom. As an Entrepreneur, you have the freedom to try whatever you want. You don't have to ask permission to try something. You are fully responsible for your successes and for all your failures. The great opportunity that Entreprenuers have is the opportunity to experiment and to see what works without having to make sure that your boss is happy. You might have to please some investors but they know your an entrepreneur and they will usually let you pursue your ideas without too much interference.

2. Flexibility. You have no working hours. As an Entrepreneur each hour of each day is an hour that is somehow dedicated to your project. You are not a workaholic. No, you are an entrepreneur and that means that you are a passionate about an idea and you have 24 hours a day to pursue your creation.. which never seems like enough time.

3. Unique. As an Entrepreneur, you join an elite group. Not everyone has the ability to be an entrepreneur and if you pursue this lifestyle, you will be joining a group of exceptional people. If you become an entrepreneur, you are showing that you are willing to face your fears. People will know that you have the ability to face fear and will see you as a leader and conquerer.

4. Rewards. As an Entrepreneur, you will receive many rewards. These rewards are not just monetary or superficial. Your rewards will be the milestones you achieve, the products you create, the people you see using your ideas and products. Entreprenuers are not motivated by money, if we were, we would be working for a company and taking a salary plus commission... Our payday is the day our product is created.

5. Visionary. I am the type of Entrepreneur who bores of routine. Do not ask me to do the same thing every morning. I have no desire to sit at a desk and fill in spreadsheets or draft amedments to contracts. I want to work on puzzles, to research articles, to talk to people, to podcast what I find and let you know how wonderful the world is. I want you to be as thrilled with living as I am. I don't think I would accomplish that working as a normal employee unless I was working for an exceptional company. As an entrepreneur, I am able to go ahead and be a visionary without someone telling me no. I can look ahead and see what is coming and try and make it accessible to my clients.

Of course there are thousands of reasons to be an Entrepreneur but this is the list I think about when I wake up and it keeps me chipping at that wall that is between me and opportunity.
