First Inventory and children's story
Today I recieved my first shipment of product from Italy. I still have to inventory the products but I tested the video and CD on Anna and she really liked it. The learning program is designed so that you can use the program for fifteen minutes a day and learn a language. The program was developed under the European Union's Socrates program. I still have to watch the Teacher's video but I think I need an additional teachers manual. The cartoon video is really nice. The workbook comes only in English so I have to figure out what to do for the other four languages. Either I develop a booklet that may be used with the video and CD or I just sell those languages without a workbook. I want a coloring book to go with the set but they don't have one with this product line.. I will have to see if I can get one created that will work well with the video and CD. It is an odd feeling. I have been looking forward to getting this product and now that I have it, I wish there was more. There just is not enough.
I have to respond to the large publisher about the licensing argreement for the product I want to develop for the 8 to 12 year olds. They want to have an advance and I am not sure what I will be able to afford on top of paying royalties and producing the product. I also now realize that I need to add more product for the 3 to 6 years olds to round out the learning series. I don't want to start on the older children's product line until I have the preschoolers under control. I know you can't plan for everything.. and here I go... I have my first unplanned product that needs to get created fairly quickly. I will start working on it tomorrow.
One of the books I am writing for the preschool series is called Luisa's park. Here is the poem that is being used in the book.
Please Mommy, can we go to the park
so I can catch the sandshark that is after my toes
so I can chase my friend Clark with the watering hose
so I can play Noah's Ark where the elm tree grows
So I can make the dog bark as I wiggle my nose
so I can watch the Monarch as he lands on my clothes
so I can show off the sparkles that light up my bows
Please can we go before the street light glows
please can we go before it gets dark and everyone goes
What I have decided to do is use the poem in the book. First Anna will describe what she wants to do. Then the mother will say yes and describe what Anna can do at the park and then they will return from the park and Anna will say what she did that day at the park. and ask to go again to Luisa's park as she drifts off to sleep.
