Pilot program for Sofia Verlag, Inc.
What am I doing?
A few months ago, I sat in my lawyer's office and he told me to go ahead and start a pilot program. "Just go out and do it." he said. As I left his office, I wondered how am I supposed to go out there and just do it when I don't have this magical sum of money that the consultants keep saying I need. Is this some kind of entrepreneurial joke? I am told repeatedly that I should go to my family for funding but that just will not work... My father tapped all those resources already. I guess that system works if you have only one entrepreneur in the family. Since I am a second generation entrepreneur and my father never found his pot of gold, I have to be more creative or in some ways more insane to pursue my entrepreneurial idea.
After waiting for a few months pondering this need to just take a leap, I decided last month to go ahead and jump. I want the security of being fully funded. I want the knowledge that I have a paycheck coming in but that just is not going to happen. So here I am. I started my pilot program and I agreed to distribute product. I am now committed to my viral marketing pilot program.
Yesterday was the first official day of marketing the viral way. What did I do yesterday? well, I went to the library. Yes, I want to sell multi media products and I went somewhere where you can borrow them for free. Why would I do that??
My friend Susan Byron has been doing readings at the library near the unemployment office and asked me to take her place b/c she needed to work. I like reading to children so I took some flyers with me and went to the library. Three mothers and six kids were waiting. This is my current target market, mothers and children. After reading the book ,Cat in the hat, I handed out flyers and then sat and talked to the mothers. In the span of fifteen minutes, two of the three mothers said they wanted to buy the product, my product, Sofia's product. Wow that was easy. One of the buyers asked if her son's kindergarten class could have the product... now if that works out that is no longer just one product but twenty products sold. When I was getting ready to leave, one of the mothers asked for a private language class... so overall the trip to the library may turn out to be very profitable for my pilot program here in Munich.
That reading at the library is basically how viral marketing the party plan way works. You get women together. you show them how the product works and then you offer to let them buy it.
I am not sure how much product I need to sell for this pilot to be considered successful but I think yesterday proves that women like to buy products from other women and if I tell them it is good and show them how it works, they will buy it....
so do you know anyone who wants to buy some stock.. If you do, I will throw in a set of language learning products for the great price of thirty Euros.... you get the picture.
