Sofia Says, Sofia Writes, Sofia Walks
Today I was walking to work and I met my neighbor who is the owner of Cine Maids. It is a company that does PR work for Movies that are coming to Munich. They are currently doing PR work for a movie called HAVANA that is being released in the theatres tomorrow.
I am always curious how people get started in their work. I met one person who started in their field because it was the only way they could live in a particular city. They chose their profession because of personal reasons and now are stuck in an area that doesn't really interest them. An indifferent expert.
Cine Maids does not seem to be indifferent, in fact, the company is owned by two women. Not only are they a local company owned by women, but they are growing.
Today, I found out that they have an intern. This is exciting news. An intern is cheap and well educated labor. For a small company, it is nice to have cheap labor and the extra body to actually be on the premises to get packages, and answer the phone.
I would love to have an intern but at this stage, most of my work is writing and you can't pass that off to an intern....although an intern would be welcomed to review code and to check my grammar.
I was checking my submission sample for the NPR contest and decided to change it after hearing all the other samples that have been submitted. Instead of sending in a podcast article, I think it would be better to submit an audio version of my blog Sofia Says. they are looking for hosts so I will have to figure out how to host for two minutes without having a guest...
Why create a submission? I want people to visit Sofia Says and Sofia Magazine. With the submission, they will go to the websites. Free promotion and what is better than free PR.
