Ten Marketing tips for Expat Entrepreneurs

Sofia has now eaten 4.4 gb of transfer which is pretty good for one week. We are also listed between 6 and 10 for the magazine and around 25 for the book. I am happy with both spots. lets see if I continue to rank this high after I move the magazine over to kids and family.

Tomorrow is Monday and the Expat Entrepreneur podcast. Tomorrow's podcast will be marketing tips. I tried each tip in the past and know that they work. I also know that it is a lot of work. Being an entrepreneur is a lot of work. That is the reason that I tell people to make sure they love their idea. Love it and have a passion bordering on obsession. You need that kind of energy, the kind of energy you have in a new love affair. You will be thinking about your start up all the time, you will want to be working on it and spending time with it.. you will not want to let it out of your hands..... If you don't have that kind of dedication, go look for a normal job in a company. Why do most start up companies fail? It isn't because of a lack of passion. It usually is a lack of planning but if you make a marketing plan and try to follow it, you are certainly giving yourself a fighting chance.

So here is the outline of the list from the podcast. Ten tips:

1. Have a plan
2. Know what you sell
3. Decide your Niche
4. Referrals
5. Publicity
6. Networking
7. Database
8. Upsell
9. Always be Positive
10. Make it Easy to say Yes

It look so easy but this short list will take lots of your time. Valuable time but it is always worth it. Always. If you want to hear what my thoughts are on the above ten points, listen to the podcast, it is a good listen.
