Sofia Says and Sofia Magazine Become Interactive, Kind Of.. Maybe, By The End Of The Month

I spoke with someone yesterday who is busy editing a document translated from Russian into German. This person is now looking over the translation. After 12 hours, she is still reviewing and editing the text. It looks like the original translator did not know enough German to create a German text and the German editor is not sure what the Russian words mean.

Now this company will pay twice to have this document translated. Once by a translator and once by the editor who is having to redo the whole copy. What a waste of money and time or is it?

I spend days working on computer code trying to figure things out. How am I any different from this large company. Could I be using my time more efficiently? Would it be better for me to hire someone to do this work? No.

My company is small and I have limited resources. If I give the design work and computer work for my websites over to someone at this stage, I will just be going into debt. My websites are helping to create a branding, they are not bringing in an income at the moment. I also am changing the websites and adding content weekly. If I had a company managing my websites, I would have to submit the data to them and then wait for them to do the work.

I am not a micro manager but at this stage, I don't want to let go of the website control. In just a few short months, I know how to design a decent site, add codes and deal with attacks to my subscriptions. It is wonderful to know that I have this new skill set.

This morning, I decided to make my web pages a little more interactive and I started looking for codes to make comment boxes on the different pages. I found a simple code at JS-KIT This person is nice enough to even give ways to make the box more interesting. Ways that I will spend my weekend learning how to use.

The journalist, who is editing the Russian/German text, remarked that after editing for twelve hours, she is becoming an expert in this area of technology. The time I spend working on this website is not wasted. I am learning. I am not only learning how to use my computer, my software programs and the internet but I am also learning that I have the ability not only to create an idea but to make it a reality. So learning by doing isn't stupid if it increases your skill set. It is only stupid if it wastes your money.

In June, I will be adding a store to Sofia. A small one. Now that I know how to make a comment box, how hard can a store be? The one thing I know is that I may no longer live in the United States but you really can't take the American out of me. Super optimism is mandatory if you are going to be an expat entrepreneur. Lets get designing.
