Sony Interview
I need more time. It is zooming past me and I am unable to get everything done. I have the article about product placement done but when I went to upload podcasts today, I have no space. I could only put on two podcasts, the interview with a Sony Game Programmer and the Toytown Writers deserted beach assignment.
I have to delete podcasts. I hate deleting podcasts, especially since I am now uploading to iTunes directly from the Sofia Magazine website instead of through my private mac account.
I bought a larger space for Sofia Says so that I will not have to delete podcasts for the writing assignment but it hurts to delete podcasts off of the magazine. I guess I will have to start acting more like a monthly magazine where articles are no longer accessible. I will need to figure out how I can archive them outside of the website and allow people to access them through a search function. This is beyond my present skill set so will be put on a back burner and just keep the podcasts on file. Maybe make them register if they want to access the database.
I also am not quite interactive. Only one blog page is interactive. The hat page. Starting tomorrow, the Sofia Says blog entry will have a comment section. I am not going to add the comment script to past blog entries but I am going to start adding them to the upcoming blog entries.
Luckily, the podcast on Sofia Says has plenty of room to grow and I am trying to figure out how to allow the class participants to talk to each other or even know that they exist. That would mean that I need some kind of forum for them to chatter on. I am thinking about asking Toytown Germany to host the forum so that I don't have to worry about monitoring it. We will have to see... the Toytown writers like having a forum to write to each other and post things but we have been having problems with Yahoo and I have no desire to annoy a new class with missing posts.
Creative has come out with a new mp3 player called Stone. It is cute. I saw an article on the product but I have not tested it. I guess I will have to ask their PR if I can see their new product. I am supposed to interview the company in the next couple of weeks.. it will be interesting to see what else they have been doing.
I am going to start looking for companies that might be interested in product reviews. I talked with a PR manager here in Munich and she thought that the German market would be receptive.
I am debating having actual interviews on the website. The interview with Sony is a reading of the interview. I felt like I should have videotaped it and used hand puppets. I tested it out with a friend and he thought it was hilarious. Unfortunately, it is a serious article and I did not want to make fun of the writer or the programmer so I had to be serious.
It is nice to know the Sarah Thomas, the writer, was able to find one female game programmer in Europe. Hopefully, she will be able to continue finding more women to interview. The article will be posted in a separate blog entry. We now have articles by Betsy Sansby, Robert Alan Black, Sarah Thomas and Sofia (me). Nice to know that we are growing in a positive direction.
I might have to push the store back to June. I am not sure how much space the store will take and I am running out of time to research all of the options. I need more time.
