Script Frenzy
In a few days, this competition starts. Script Frency is a competition like NANWRIMO which is organized to get people writing.
I am finding that the hardest thing to do is get people to finish their books. They start them, they talk about them but they just don't get around to finishing them. I know some very talented writers who just never seem to get things written.
In the next few days, I am actually going to be taking a writer and forcing her to write. We made a deal. I want her book, she wants to work and be a free spirit. The problem is that a free spirit doesn't always have the discipline to write a book.
They live an interesting life but just don't want to put time into writing it down. We are going to teach her how to incorporate writing into her free spirit life. Writing is not a skill that requires you to be tied down. You can be a free spirit and a writer.
Why am I putting pressure on my writers? What does it matter? It matters because I just got an offer for online distribution of my audio products. I need to give this company my list of products for the next six months next week.
Next week. Things have been moving quickly and I need a more substantial list of products. Now I understand why publishers don't want to see half a manuscript. you might have half but you may never get the other half.
Maybe writers should do job sharing. Two writers write a book.. one starts and one finishes. oops.. that probably would not be what they want to hear.. They are creating art... I should not be talking about it as if it is just a product.
Back to Sofia. I know it might be hard to understand where I am going sometimes because you have not read the business plan and do not have an overview but the magazine and podcasting etc. are branding. I need a name/brand established so that I can pursue phase two which is tackling the female market.
Lately, I have been meeting quite a few PR people who have been providing me with contacts that I need to set up a technology camp. Hopefully I will be able to discuss this in more detail this summer. Right now, I have to continue gathering interested people to sponsor the event.
Podcasting is on the agenda for today. I will be podcasting the Ask Betsy list of questions you should ask yourself before you enter a relationship. Betsy Sansby is coming out with a very interesting game for partners in a relationship. The title is hilarious. I forgot to put her details in the bullying article so I have to remember to do that for today's podcast. her most current website is Talking about Relationships
